Who I am

  As a senior myself, I’m 71, I know the many financial uncertainties seniors are facing as they approach retirement or are now retired and living on fixed incomes.  My wife first told me about a reverse mortgage from a radio commercial she had heard.  My first reaction was “no one lends money you don’t have to pay back!”  However, she persisted, as wives often do, I finally agreed to check it out by going to the government HUD/FHA web site (www.hud.gov).

To my surprise, I found out the reverse mortgage program was indeed a legitimate program!  AARP was the driving force lobbing Congress to create a program for seniors to get them some financial relief without creating a monthly debt.  After selecting Reverse Mortgage of Texas as our mortgage company we started a process that would change our lives in many unexpected ways.  Once completing our reverse mortgage, I was asked to join their staff as a Loan Officer.  For over 40 years, I had been a self-employed commercial artist and technical illustrator working with many of the local companies in the oil related industry.  This was a complete change for me. I’m now a nationally licensed Real Estate Loan officer. For the past five years Reverse Mortgages have been my only business, and I’m proud to say that I’m very good at what I do.

  Having done a reverse mortgage on my own home, I can give all my clients an understanding of the whole process from both sides  . . . as the borrower and as the loan officer.  I use a seasoned and experienced processing staff; so we can process and close loans quickly.  We also keep you informed throughout the entire loan process.
